Bella is Feeling Better

Just wanted to let everyone know that Bella is doing better. She was feeling pretty bad for a while. All she was doing was sleeping. She wouldn't eat or drink, and she was sneezing a lot. So I ended up taking her to the vet. The vet said that she had a respiratory problem that is common in kennels an highly contagious. It is not a serious condition, but she was very dehydrated because she wasn't eating or drinking. They gave her an IV drip, a shot, and put her on some medicine. She didn't like it very much, but she is doing great now. She is eating, playing, and just a lot happier. We are still working on her going outside. You can see her sitting in the window sill. That is my office upstairs. I leave the window open for her to climb onto the roof. But she hasn't left the roof yet. Eventually we'll get her a cat door.

Ocean

Well, once again this year my family went to the ocean. It was a great trip. Typical to the ocean, the first day was so cold and windy. We barely spent any time at the beach. But the next day was so nice that I got sun burned in just a couple of hours. We played Frisbee, and whiffle ball. There was also a lot of boche ball going on.

I must say that Jerry's kids kicked my butt. We went boogie boarding and Ryan and I caught some pretty sweet waves. And like always there was some really great food. This year Ryan was buried as a hula girl, and we even had palm trees (thank you Eric).

All in all it was a great trip. I only wish it could have lasted longer. Here are some more pics from the trip.

Bella

This week Eric and I have made another addition to our family. We adopted a little kitty. We got her from the same pound that we got Blue our dog. I new I wanted a Siamese cat. Eric found one there. Oddly enough, her name happened to be "Blue Bell". I think someone at that pound had a obsession with the color blue. Either that, or they got really bored of naming animals. So obviously we couldn't have 2 Blues's in the family, so we called her Bella.

She is a little bit sick right now since bringing her from the pound. I think she may have kennel cough from being at the pound. So she is sneezing and hacking a lot. Mostly she just sleeps all day. We really need to take her to the vet to get checked out. But she is a very sweet kitty. She loves to be pet, and held. We are keeping her inside for now until she gets used to us, and eventually we will put in a cat door.

She is a just a little thing. We think she is about 2. She was already fixed when we got her, so she must have been previously owned and either got lost or scared away. She was caught in a cat trap in an area where there are a lot of cats in the wild. They bring them to the pound to try and give them up for adoption, or just to try and control the population of cats in the area. The pound is actually really sad. On the wall they have figures of the number of animals that come in each month (which is about 250), and the number of animals adopted (which is about 150). It is sad to think what happens to those other 100 animals. I very happy that we could save our pets from that fate.
