Happy Halloween

The boys love Halloween. And this year was a great one. It was the first year that we didn't decorate our house and hand out candy :( But it was the first time we really took both boys out for more than just a couple of houses of trick or treating. First the boys went dressed up to school. No sugar yet and already so excited I could barely settle them down. They really wanted to use the hair color spray. So we made Tommy a Ninja Turtle with green hair. And Jake was Superman with red and blue hair.

After school we got all changed up into our trick or treating costumes. Tom was a snow leopard and Jake was a dog. Then we went uptown to do our first trick or treating on Vashon. It is a pretty cool thing. We met up with cousin Lena and then I think we pretty much saw the whole town. Or at least all of those with kids. The boys loved looking at all the costumes and decorations. And of course getting candy. They even got to trick or treat at a police car. I told them that you could go say hi, and he happened to have candy!

Then we wanted to take them for a little old school Vashon, so we hit up a couple houses on the Gold Beach loop and then went home and crashed. The boys had so much fun.

Pumpkin Carving

We did get a little bit of pumpkin carving done this year. The boys were not able to help a whole lot other than try to scoop out a little bit of the seeds and tell me what they wanted on their pumpkin. The boys really love lighting them up and seeing them glow when they are all done.

Tommy's Soccer

Tommy decided he had to have daddy on the field with him now to be able to go out there. Not sure if he just wants to spend more time with daddy or what :) But he is seeming to enjoy playing defense and trying to take away the ball. Just like his mom.

Eagles Halloween

We took the boys up to the Eagles Halloween. We met up with Monique, Calvin & Angelica. The boys had a great time being silly in their costumes.

Halloween Train

We got to go on the Halloween Train again this year. The kids are love it and this year we got the added bonus of getting to go to the train museum to see some of the old trains. Scary for a little moment when Tommy took off running and we had to look down numerous isles to find him. But other than that it was fun. And we got to see the spectacular view of Snoqualmie Falls and the valley at the end.

Creek House Farm Pumpkin Patch

We made it out to the Blossey's pumpkin patch again this year. The boys just love going there to see the animals, do the hay ride and all the other activities.

My Little Twelfie

Jake found a football helmet at Cara's house when we were at the baby shower. He just had to put it on.

Little Bitty Bath Tub

Our 5th wheel only has a little shower. I knew the boys weren't ready to take showers. So I bought a tiny little bathtub that would fit in the shower. It ain't great. But it is better than nothing.

Cuddle Bugs

In the mornings it seems like I always have someone trying to crawl up into bed with me. My little cuddle bugs. But they never seem to want to cuddle for long. They mostly just want to get squirley in my bed. But it sure wakes you up and gets you going in the morning.

Stompy the Bear

The boys have been enjoying doing more Caspar Babypants on U-Tube. As of right now their favorite is Stompy the Bear. It makes the trailer rock a bit, but the love it.

Caspar Babypants

I got tickets for the boys and I to go see Caspar Babypants at the Vashon Center for the Arts. I had heard some of the music before and thought it sounded cool so I thought the boys would enjoy it. Before going we looked up a couple of the songs on U-Tube so the boys would know what they would be going to. They really liked the songs. They had never really been to a kids show before so when he started singing they were kind of just sitting there and watching. But after a little while they got pretty excited and started running and dancing around. We bought a couple of CDs one of them with the Itsy Bitsy Spider song on it because Jake loves that song.

Crazy Dance Party

What to do on a Friday night where everyone is too bored and acting squirrely. Might as well have a crazy dance party to get the energy out. Some very interesting moves were created. And Tommy started a new fashion statement while wearing both of his daddy's hats at the same time.

Mariner's Game Nail Biter

I traded in some tickets for 3 seats to the second to last game of the season and took Wes and Tom. The playoffs were on the line and there was tons of energy in the stadium. Tom was memorized by the noise and the people that you don't see every game because people it was a packed house of pumped people. Tom also loved the rally towels. And we had front row seats on the third base line so Tom spent quite a bit of time waving the rally towel. And he even got on the big screen while waving his towel. And then the moose came running by and gave Tommy a high five. And it ended off with pop corn. So how can you lose. Unfortunately the Mariners did lose and they were out of the playoffs. But we had a great time at the game.

Underwear

We officially have a potty trained boy in underwear. Tom was such a stubborn boy. I tried everything and I mean everything with this kid. Finally it came down to I just couldn't take it any more. The thought of having a soon to be 5 year old who was still would not poop in the potty and potentially would not go to kindergarten next year because of it was absolutely killing me. So I put him in underwear and he pooped in it. I made him clean up the mess himself. He used up a entire pack of wipes. It was disgusting and messy, but he didn't want to poop in his pants again because I said I was no longer going to clean it because I would not be there at school to clean it for him and no one else was going to clean it for him there either. So he really started trying. We have had a few accidents of not quite making it there in time, but he has done really good and is so proud of himself. One down, one to go. At least Jake has some interest in the potty because he knows brother is doing it, but he hasn't really done much so far except stand in there. He did pee pee in the potty once, but as the pee was coming out he kept trying to grab it out of the air :)

Heledort

Tommy created a new vehicle. A heledort???

Firehouse Fun

The boys were super excited to get to go and see what happens at the Firehouse. They loved sitting in the trucks and doing the bounce house. And the helicopter was for sure a highlight.
