The boys have been very excited for Easter. They did a little Easter Egg hunt at school. We have been dying eggs and Tommy did a pretty good job of dying the eggs and not making a mess. Jake just watched but liked putting some of the stickers on afterwards. They got up in the morning and were very excited to look at their Easter baskets and all the goodies. Then we went outside in our boots and coats and did the Easter Egg hunt. Tommy was moving so fast he was so excited that he missed a lot of them and we had to point them out. Jake found a few on his own but we had to help him out a lot. We did put a whole bunch on the back wall in plain site. We made Tom wait for a minute and let Jake grab some before Tom went through like a tornado and grabbed the rest. Then we cooked the Turkey we had in our freezer because it is getting close to time to clean out the freezer. And I wanted to start packing up our entertaining dishes so I could move the hutches out of the house. So we had one last big fancy dinner in the house.

Tommy Turns Four!
Today Tommy turned four years old. He is such a big boy now. He is all about wanting to be independent and making his own choices. His favorite color is blue. He asked me for a blue cloud cake. So we got blue cupcakes to take to school and put dusty crop hoper airplanes in the top of them. He was very excited. And yesterday we went to the Seattle Aquarium. It was cool because since we were members there was a members only early entrance and we got to be in there and see most of the exhibits with practically no one in there. Then we went to go get fish and chips and we saw there was no line for the great wheel so we did that as well. I am sure it is cooler on a clear day, but it wasn't foggy or anything. The boys were very excited to see all the boats along the port. And then we went to get our fish and chips and of course some birthday ice cream. I feel bad that Tom didn't get a full kids birthday party again this year, but with putting our house on the market time is so limited. Next wear we will have to have a big party for him for the big number five.

Lots of Work to Do
Right now we are talking with our architect about what we want to do with our Vashon property. It is exciting to talk about. Also incredibly detailed and so many options and decisions to make. I have been look at architectural plans since August to get ideas of what would work for us. Now we just have to fit those ideas into something that works for our property and what works with county code. A little stressful considering we are also trying to prep our house for sale. But I guess it is motivation to work harder to get to the end result. So much work to do.

Prepping for the Move
When you split your rubber boots I guess you know you have been working hard rain or shine. I guess it is time to get full on work boots instead of one's from Fred Meyer :) But we are at the point of no excuses. Just get it done. I have been in the garden since September potting starts of plants, moving things to fill holes and filling the gardens back in and now we are at 30 days till we list our house. It has been a mad house of trying to get as much as I can during nap times, and when they are awake trying to do as much as I can in between playing referee between the two boys and trying to keep them from creating more things to fix around the house. My least favorite task is fixing a line of rocks Eric just put in. Eric told the boys they could play with the rocks to keep them busy, but I end up picking up rocks every day. I can't even drive out of the driveway without picking up the rocks because they are large enough my tires wouldn't be too happy about it. Needless to sat I to say I won't be missing the works. Ugh.

Clematis
Eric has worked hard since September to clean up the property and emptying out the doublewide, stripping in and cleaning it so we can store everything from in our house in there. It was quite a task. He has moved a few of his things from our yard over there a little bit at a time, but now since we decided to put the house on the market we have begun to move all the unnecessary items. All of the plants, lot of rocks we want to keep, the huge garage sale pile that we will deal with this summer, all of our holiday decorations, everything in the closets basically, non essential toys and clothes, kitchen stuff, extra furniture that was holding collectibles and serve wear, pictures on the walls and anything else we can move to get clutter out of the house. I don't even know how many trips in we are at right now. Things are getting less cluttered in the house though, then the cleaning will begin. Exhausted is all I can say. But during one of the many trips there was half a moment to stop and smell the roses. Or clematis I should say that is at the property. Plants are popping up in various places, haven't had much time to stop and look but it will be fun one day to dig for buried plant treasures.

Gonna Take A Walk Outside Today
Jake loves singing. He has been learning more and more songs. I am always amazed that he knows the words to so many songs even after not hearing them that many times.

Lincoln Logs
Tom saw the box of Lincoln Logs in the closet and wanted to open them up. I ended up have to do a lot of work on the building, or at least showing Tom where each and every piece went. But he was super excited when it turned into a house. I think I will sneak it back into the closet until he can do it more on his own though :)

Magnets
Tommy is really starting to learn his numbers at school. He remembers all the the numbers 1-10 by site now most of the time and he is working on double digits as well. He knows some of the letters by site. He doesn't have all of them down yet, but he is getting better. He likes having me spell words with the magnets for him or write words on paper so he can see the letters.
