Boys are super excited they finally got their TV back. We now have power, cable, and internet. Moving up in the world. Still working on the water and sewer.

Browne's at the Beach
Our first week in the trailer. The Browne's came over to check out the beach and visit us. Took them down to KVI. It was a pretty low tide. They got a kick out of seeing all the clams.

Closed on Our House
Today we closed on our house. It has been a really rough couple of months. Just the last week or so was so crazy with frantically trying to get the last stuff out while trying to find some decent weather, cleaning the old house, moving the 5th wheel, trying to get the utilities hooked up, trying to get some stuff unpacked, starting a new day care and a new schedule. Yesterday we got power fully hooked up so that we don't have to run off the generator any more. We hope to have the water and sewer hooked up soon. The boys seem to be adjusting ok. It is a little bittersweet though. We spent 10 years working on our house and yard, putting our blood sweat and tears into it. And of course a lot of money. None of which we will ever be repaid. But we couldn't wait any more. An opportunity to get a property appeared and we had to take it because who knows when the next housing crash will happen. We hope the new owners appreciate what they have and take good care of it. I couldn't drag Eric out of there until we handed over the keys. He kept wanting to fix things that were not even on the inspection list. Time to close that chapter in our life. On to new things.

Finding a Place to Play
The boys have been trying to figure out their new yard, well if you call it a yard. The only grass we have is the septic system mound. There is a patch of dirt but it has tons of holes and is not super great for a toddler. Jake is still a little unstable outside so we have already had issues with him falling. And he already got a black eye. But the boys are excited to get out of the trailer and stretch their legs no mater where it is.

Welcome Home
We weren't really wanting to move late Friday night but the weather suggested otherwise. It stayed nice and dry and even greeted us with a pretty sunset. Our beds are moved into our temporary home and we are spending our first night back on Vashon. We have cut it pretty close on the move. The 5th wheel literally got into place yesterday. Nothing is hooked up yet, but we don't really need that to just sleep there. We had to have someone haul it for us and it was so big that it took 2 attempts to get it parked where there was room to put it. Headed back tomorrow to move the last big stuff with the help of some strong guys and start the final cleanup.

No Thank You Daddy
We have always tried to get the boys to take politely to people. Which can be tough because monkey see monkey do. But we try to get them to use "No Thank You". Eric was tickling Jake in the car and it was took cute that he was saying "No Thank You Daddy".

Fishing Derby
We went out to the Vashon Sportsman Club Fishing Derby again this year. Tom was very excited because he remembered it from last year. We got them all dressed up and took their picture (although Jake would not stand still). And then we headed out to get some fish. Jake sat in the stroller, which he was not thrilled about till he got snacks. And we all tried Tom the best we could to get him a fish while trying to let him help. And when I was helping him, we landed one! So Tommy got to help catch his first fish. He loved it and was so proud of himself. He didn't want to stop and wanted to catch more. Lena also caught one so we ended up having trout dinner together. Tom loved that too.

Start Your Engines
The boys are enjoying the spacious play room with all the furniture moved out because they have a ton of room to run around in circles and do races. Enjoy it while it lasts boys. We are about to be living in a tiny 5th wheel.

Mother's Day
We had a low key mother's day this year. The boys made me some cute gifts at school. And Tommy went to the store and picked out a very pretty Orchid. Eric said he wouldn't take any other flower. Now I have to figure out how to keep it alive. We did some more moving. And we let the boys go to the beach for a little while to get out of the truck. This time we took them to KVI. They had a great time. I think they are starting to understand the benefits of living on an island. They didn't want to leave.

Facing the World
Jake finally got to check out what all the fuss was about. He is now turned around and facing the world. You can tell he feels like part of the conversation now.

Grandma's Borgonvilla
Grandma's borgonvilla really got a lot of blooms on it this year. I am still amazed that after it was cut all the way down to the stump that it came back to bloom again. To think we almost threw it out because we thought it was dead. Now that I need to move the plants out I need to find a temporary home for them. We don't really have a place to store them all. So I decided to take them into my office since I have a nice big window there. It now looks like I work in a greenhouse and the plants are very happy there for the moment.

Jake Reading
Jake has always been a quite a talker. He really likes reading books and right now his favorite is books about animals and making all the noises for them. I found him reading the book to himself today and making the animal noises. It was very cute.

Feeding my little hummingbirds before we have to say goodbye. Hopefully we will have some new hummingbirds at our property.

Squirt
The weather has really nice for May. So we have been playing outside shooting the water squirters around which Jake loves and blowing bubbles. Jake thinks he wants to blow bubbles but really hasn't figured it out much. I usually just end up making sure he doesn't cover himself in bubbles.
And I have been trying to keep the boys out of the way while Eric deals with inspection item things, working out getting our 5th Wheel purchased, moved and set-up, and packing up his stuff. Since the house was thinned out so much before we listed things a lot of the house items need to wait until we are ready to do our last full move.

Lego Time
The boys have been playing more Legos lately I think because they now have a larger selection of pieces to use. Tommy really likes making hydroplanes and has races. Just like he sees at the Mariner's Games :) Jake has even been getting better at the Duplo Legos. I wasn't sure he was going to do that well with them, but he wants to do everything Tom does. So it is time to retire our Mega Blocks. Our boys capabilities have now expanded past just making tall towers. But we have made some epic towers and tunnels with those guys. It is sad to see them move on to another kid.
Brenden's Birthday
The boys and I went to neighbor Brendan's birthday party at Les Grove park. Eric was busy getting work done with the move, but the boys had a good time. Crawling on the toys and running around. They still were not big enough to do all the big boy things at that park yet, but there was enough there to keep them busy. Tom didn't sit still long enough to get in a picture. Happy Birthday Brenden. We'll miss you bud.
