We have had a busy schedule lately. Eric went in to check on Tommy to make sure he was sleeping. He was sleeping, under there somewhere. Not sure how he slept with all of that piled on top of him. But he was pretty tired so it probably didn't matter what was on him.

High School & Rockbuster Wrestling Meet
The Rockbusters had a great opportunity for a match today. They went to Cascade Christian and did a quick head to head matchup against the youth team prior to the high school meet. It was pretty fun for them to get to be on the solo mat in front of a crowd. They were just little short matches. And then we watched the high school team compete against Cascade Christian. Lena pinned 3 ladies.

Girls All Star High School Wrestling Meet
The girls high school team had an all star night since the Girls Rock tournament had to be cancelled due to not enough girls being able show up due to illness. The girls had a fun night. Lena's match was pretty short, but we were happy to go and support the girls team. They are doing great.

Second Wrestling Tournament
The boys had their second wrestling tournament. It was not the best run tournament. They started almost 2 hours late and ran it really weird. Jake had to wait a fair amount of time to get to his second match. And then 5 minutes after he went a tight 3 rounds and pulled out a 4-3 win they called him again for his next match. And while Jake was doing his third match, Tommy finally got a call for his first match. Tommy wrestled a tight match as well. Unfortunately the youth refs did not award him all the points that she even counted out. And then in the third round as he got a reversal he was not awarded his nose exploded. He is fine, but it was really unfortunate timing. He ended up losing by 2. While Tommy's match was wrapping up Jake's was starting and Jake ends his match with a loss and a bloody mouth. At this point it is about 4 PM and we had run out of the food we had brought. Everyone else except the coach had left. We were all a bit cranky while waiting for Tommy to wrestle his second match. Finally we got to his second match and Tommy had a quick pin over a Tacoma Slam kid he lost to earlier in the year. So he had a third match. Tommy worked so hard in this match. It was against a girl who was pretty quick and really flexible. He had a hard time getting her on her back. It ended up going to overtime and the ref gave her a takedown as the whistle happened. Tommy still had a leg when she called it. Oh well, at least we finally got to head home after a very long day.

Lena's Wrestling Tournament
The boys did not have any wrestling this weekend so we went to watch Lena wrestle in Kelso. This is the biggest girls tournament of the year other than the state tournament. There were over 800 girls and 64 person brackets. And the competition was really tough. We got to see Lena wrestle 3 matches. She won the first 2 with a pin. On her second match, in the semi-final, she was behind 2-1 in the third period. She pulled out a pin on a move I had never seen. She said it was called the life boat. It was pretty exciting to watch. She had a really tough match up for the final against a girl who had huge biceps. Lena get behind in the beginning and then once she was on top the girl stalled the entire third period. Lena was awarded 4 stalling points, but it wasn't enough for a win. Still, second place is pretty good. I am glad we went to see it.

Bingo
They were having Bingo at the Eagles. So we took the kids up there for a fun night. We did not have any winners, but they had fun.
New Seating
Funds are pretty tight after building a new house. So we have not spent a lot of money on furniture or finishings on the house. We used the things we had and were lucky enough to get things from family members who were getting rid of stuff. We aren't going for super fancy anyway. We are going for functional. Today Eric brought home and old pew from one of the churches on the island. It is hard to be patient and not just go out and buy everything possible to make things exactly how we want it. But little bit by little bit we are finding things that fit in the right place.

Happy Clouds
Jake has been obsessed with talking about Bob Ross for a couple years now. He tried to convince his soccer team to be named Bob Ross something. He has never even seen Bob Ross paint. It is just one of those things kids were talking about on the playground. So when I saw these socks in Granny's six months ago, I knew I had to get them. I saved them to put in Jake's stocking for Christmas. He was very excited about them. It is probably his second favorite thing to talk about aside from cheese. Don't worry, he also got a lot of cheese for Christmas. Jake was sick for the first few days after the winter break. He was itching to get back to see his friends. Finally today he made it back to school. He wore his socks to show his friends. His teacher snapped a picture for me of his Happy Clouds. What a goofy kid.

Third Wrestling Meet
The boys had their third wrestling meet today. It was a different kind of meet. Wrestlers were supposed to do their own match-ups and see if they can get to 6 matches. I bit chaotic. The boys both got 5 matches in. They both did fairly well. Finding good matchups was a little tough for both of them. Tommy was a little small and Jake was a little big for the average people there. But they got some good practice in. At the end, everyone was pretty tired. But they had pretty a taco truck outside the gym, so that helped revive everyone a little.
