The boys had a home tournament today. They both wrestled well today and both took home second place medals. Tommy had a pin and a bye. And then he had a rematch with the kid who he beat by 1 point last week. This week the other kid won by one point. Jake won one match on points, had a tech pin, and lost a close one on points. For most of the team this was the last match of the year and everyone got a medal. They had a fun day.

Wrestling Tournament
They boys did a wrestling tournament today. They have not done the tournament circuit in a couple years. It was a good learning experience for them. No Bingham wins today. But every match is a learning experience. Seeing new moves and talking about how to defend them. And they cheered on their teammates, a few of which got a medal. There was a really long set-up time for this tournament so the kids spent a fair amount of time working on their warm up with a pig pile at the end. So at least they will have the best warm up around.

Pop Pop
Last night I took Tommy out for some fun Mom and son time. Jake was at a sleepover and Eric was at the Sportsman Club meeting. So we went to Pop Pop and the Creamery Arcade. Little did I know I would have to share him with a pack of 5 girls. Don't worry, he wasn't interested. He said they were just annoying. We did get some games in together after they left and had some ice cream.

Rockbuster Night
The Rockbusters went to the high school meet on Wednesday. They always enjoy this as they get to go under the lights and they announce their names. Then they watched some great wrestling. They were cheering hard for Lena and also for one of the kids who volunteer coaches for them.

Visit to the Fire Station
Today is MLK day. The boys had the day off from school and hung out with the grandparents for the day. They went up to the first station to visit Uncle Wes and check out the fire truck. The got to see them put up the big ladder.

Break From The Rain

3rd Wrestling Meet
The boys had another wrestling meet on Friday. They were both placed in pretty tough groups and wrestled really well. They both won one of their matches. I continue to see them improve.

Movie Night
New Years day we needed to make a trip to town. Eric's mom was not doing well, they told him he should come and see her today. So we drove him over to the VA to see her. The boys and I waited in the car. They saw her a few weeks ago but it was not something we wanted them to see today. After Eric was done with his visit we took the boys to the Ruston Waterfront to see Avatar. First we went to the Stack 571 Burgers. It was happy hour and they had great priced appetizers which was a bonus. And I will tell you, their fried parmesan and truffle fried mushrooms was so amazing. I had to fight Tommy over them. I wanted to order two more orders but we had to go to the movies. This was the boys first movie in 3D. I sat next to Tommy and the look on his face when the first thing jump off the screen was priceless. It was kind of a long movie, but we had the really nice recliner chairs.
Good Morning 2023
We rang in the New Year in typical Bingham boy fashion. I woke up to the boys rocking out to their new favorite album. Tommy got the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book "Loaded Diaper" which is about Rodrick's rock band. They watched the Wimpy kid movies yesterday. Who knew there was an actual music album for this band. I know now that they are playing it on repeat. Happy New Year.
