Ichiro Weekend

Ichiro went into the Mariner's Hall of Fame this weekend. Unfortunately the doctor told me to put zero weight on my foot so I can't drive for a while. But I was able to find a ride for both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday my mom, Tommy and I went to the game together. We went early as they were letting season ticket holders in early. We missed the M's warm-up, but Tommy did get Andrés Muñoz autograph. He was pretty excited about that. He also got a couple balls thrown to him during the Cleveland batting practice. We weren't sitting in our regular seats, we were one section over. And Wes and a friend of his were 10 rows back from us. But I still hung up my Ichiro sign. And the people sitting there didn't show up till the 3rd inning. So we were able to sit there during the ceremony. It was cool to see Ichiro speak in English. He is too funny.

On Sunday, we got a ride from our neighbor Andrew and his son Lucian. Lucian has never played on a baseball team, but all of a sudden this summer he started asking if he could play ball with the boys in the yard. So most of the summer they played ball together. And he had been asking his parents if he could go to a Mariners game. He got to go to the game with the school that was up in the 300 level. But since they offered to give me a ride I got them some really nice seats row 11 behind home plate. He was super excited. And me and Jake were able to get a ride and sit in our regular seats behind the Ichiro sign. It was nice to be in our regular seats because Jake had all the space he needed to bust a move. He also went a little overboard on the licorice.

It was a great weekend. I am a little worn out after walking on a peg leg crutch for the weekend. But it was worth it. I had a fun time educating the boys about Ichiro and how amazing he is.

Arcade with Dad

While I was at the Mariners game with one of the boys this weekend, the other boy hung out with Eric. He took Jake to the arcade on Saturday. And then Tommy on Sunday.

Time For Surgery

Boy do I feel like part of the cool kids club now. I won't be driving or putting weight on my foot for a while. I ruptured achilles last Tuesday playing softball and will be getting surgery next week. How long do you think it will take before my kids try to steal this and play with it? Thank you Vashon Care Closet for setting me up and to my mom for driving me to the doctor.

Engels Car Show

We were able to make it to the Engels car show this year. I didn't really get to walk around to see the cars much as I was on crutches. But I did sit down and watch the burn outs. Tommy was loving it. One of his class mates even got to ride in the car his dad was driving as he did the burnout. He thought that was pretty cool.

Helping Around the House

Since I can't put weight on my foot the boys have been helping around the house. They have actually had fun in the kitchen. They for sure like it better than cleaning. They have been making breakfast and lunch. The first time they made me toast it was pretty crunchy. I think they toasted it twice. But they are figuring it out. And at lunch time when they were making the sandwiches they were doing it competition style. I could hear them set the timer for 20 minutes and then discuss how they needed to make each plate exactly the same. They were pretty proud of themselves. And then today they were my helpers in the kitchen. They helped me gather the stuff around the kitchen as I am on crutches and can't carry things. They helped me chop the potatoes and the stuff for the salad. And the best part is that they really loved the dinner they helped make. Thanks boys for being so sweet and helping.

Kayaking

We went for a little kayaking today. My foot is busted up, but with help I was able to get into the kayak and then it was smooth sailing from there. Jake was cruising today. I could hardly get him to slow down to let Tommy and Eric catch up to us.

Puz Family Picnic

We went over to Auburn to see the Puz family for the family picnic. It was nice to see people. It has been a long time.

Dani's 25th Class Reunion

It was my class reunion today. You know me. I am a big small talker. Not... But it was nice to see some people I haven't seen in a long time.

Music in the Park

We took the boys to music in the park. Tommy asked if he could take his whiffle ball and bat because he can't go a day without playing baseball. The kids had a blast. It really reminded me of sandlot. They had to stop repeatedly as people kept walking through their field. One amazing hit went all the way over to the drinking fountain and accidentally hit a little girl while she was taking a drink. But my favorite part was when kids just started randomly dancing on the field.

Sunset at Lisabeula

Cousin Lonnie invited us down to Lisabeula to have some hot dogs and watch the sunset. Seeing as there was a thunder and lightening storm that morning, it was a very pretty sunset. The boys enjoyed floating logs out into the water.

M's Game and Blue Angels

Took the boys to the Mariners today. We started at our seats in the nice shady outfield. Which was good because it was hot out. They we went up to the 300 level for a better view from the Trident Deck and watched the Blue Angels. It was also a run around the bases day. The boys were so fast I had to race over to home plate. It was a great day.
