Season Ticket Holder Day

Since I took Tommy to the game earlier in the week, today was Jake's turn. We went super early not sure what to expect with the ferries. It is also season ticket holder day and it is an early game opening with discounts and giveaways. We lucked out on the ferries again surprisingly. And got our free parking spot again. We were there fairly early but there was already a line up of people. We were fairly close to the front though. When we got in we got some autographs from upcoming prospects in the Mariners farm system. I didn't know them but I was told one was pretty good. So we'll see how good they pan out to be. Then we got 2 bobbleheads that were left over from the season. And also 50% off concessions. So even though we were there early it was a good time. The team was not doing batting practice or interacting with the crowd like they normally do with it being such a big game. But that's OK. We were really cheering and pulling for them. But it didn't go our way again. And we were also scoreboard watching the whole game. Jake was pretty excited. But he was pretty sad when we heard on the radio as we were headed out of the stadium that Houston had won and the Mariners were eliminated from playoffs. Oh well. It is probably for the best as we can't really the playoff tickets we put on hold. Jake and I still had a fun day though. And when I looked at my Facebook feed he was on their article cover picture. Off to a long winter and wait till next season.

Tommy's Second Soccer Game

Eric took Tommy to his second soccer game which was at home. Tommy has really been working on his goalie throw and has been getting it pretty far.

J-Rod Squad

I had a little bit of credit left in my Mariners account. So I got tickets for the Houston series. We have never sat in the J-Rod squad in center field so I got tickets for me and Tommy to do that. We got there fairly early because the ferries happened to be running on time. And then we managed to get our free parking spot again. Lucky us. But when we got up to the gate it was not open yet and there was a torrential downpour. Tommy tried to hide in an I-beam but it was really no use. It was just a super soaker. Finally we got into the stadium and we could see people running to get to center field. We had no idea that you had to sprint to get a good seat in that section because it is first come first serve. But we managed to get a fourth row seat. So it was no big deal. We had a while to hang out before the game so I went and got us a hot chowder bowl. It was interesting sitting in a general admission section. People kind of floated around in the seats. Tommy sort of made a friend with another kid. Probably because we had a trident and a bunch of posters. Tommy tried for a double rally shoe. The Mariners did not manage to get a win tonight. But Tommy and I had a good time.

Tommy's Second Fall Ball Game

Another busy weekend. Went from Jake's soccer game over to Tommy's fall ball game. Tommy was not lucky as far as the weather goes. But he is loving baseball. He is really into what he looks like on the field right now, a bit more than how he is improving his skills. But I am sure he will get over that faze. Someday...

Jake's Second Soccer Game

Jake had his second soccer game today. He was really going for it on the field today. He played a great goalie. And I also saw him try to do a behind the back move which I didn't even know that he could do. It is exciting to see him work on his skills and improve.

Pop Pop Birthday

A busy busy weekend. After Jake had his soccer game, I took him over to Tommy's baseball game. And then he hitched a ride with grandma up to Pop Pop for Gavin's birthday party.

Tommy's First Soccer Game

Tommy had a game in Tacoma today. Boy was it rainy. And the field was the one with very patchy grass that makes the ball bounce and jump everywhere. Made for an interesting game. Tommy spent most of the time in the goal.

Trusses

The trusses came in today. What a production to get them up on the walls. I watched it on the ring camera while they were putting it up there. Hopefully they can get this roof going before the rains really start coming.

Soccer, Soccer, Soccer

We've been to a lot of soccer. While Tommy is at soccer practice Jake and I went to see Lena's team play. Blake and Cash were also there. The three of them found a puppy that they were pretty excited about.

We Have Walls

They have begun to build the walls. They had them laying down and then they started tipping them up. Very exciting to see what the layout of the house will look like. You can see where the windows and such will be. You can also peep inside the windows and see the layouts of the rooms. Things are starting to get real.

Clearing the Power Line

A few weeks back I started working on clearing the power line area. I had some plants that needed to get out of the way. Now that I am done with the water line area I am going back to the powerline area to clear out the bushes that I can so that there is an open path way and so Eric can get to the tree that will need to be taken down. Jake was excited about the stump I uncovered and thought he could break it apart but was not successful. I managed to make it all the way through to the power box and I have so much more stuff to clean up in that area. But I did what needs to be done for now. I will do more once the burn ban is off so I don't have to keep putting things in piles in places.

Jake Soccer Jamboree

Zehnder Shoes

I was able to make it to Zehnder Shoes this year after having to sit out last year due to surgery. The boys stopped by for a little while and did some axe throwing. Then I dropped them off at my parents house. Eric and I played doubles. He did not have a great day. I scored more points than he did. He did better in singles. I did not. I got a terrible draw and had to face some tough people. But we had a great time.

Clearing the Water Line

With my last hours of vacation hours to use up this week before the end of summer I spent most of it in the garden digging up plants in the garden and putting them in pots. The water line needs to go right through the middle of the garden. And later the entire garden will need to be removed so that the double can come out that way. So I have spent most of the week and the labor day weekends digging up plants. Clearing out weeds and trimming bushes. Eric helped me take down the fence near the driveway and shoving all the pots into a smaller fenced area. And then later when I have places to put things I will also need to move all the bushes. But it is not a great time to move things yet with it being so hot still.

Underfloor

The wood is here, the framers have arrived and they are placing the underfloor of the house. Of course day one of construction we had a construction delay. It was only brief thanks to our cat Jessi. She really wanted to say hello to the workers and get pets. So she stood right on the piece of wood they were trying to cut. I went and grabbed her and put her back in the house. That night they asked if it would be alright if they brought their dog on a leash to the site. I told them that was totally fine. I think they must have encountered this before because Jessi has never been back to bother them again while the nice and quiet lab is with them. They have also finished the walls of the garage since that doesn't have an underfloor so they don't have to wait for it to be inspected.

Susan's 50th Birthday

We went to Susan's birthday party. We had a great time. Jake had 21 pulled pork sandwiches. And Tommy had plenty of cake. We spent the most of labor day weekend working so it was nice to get to relax for a little bit.
