Katie, Rebecca, Gavi and the girls were in town for a few days and wanted to come to the island. So we organized a picnic day at Lisabeula. It was a beautiful day and great to catch up with family. And we got to meet the newest member Michaela. It was so great to see everyone.

Spray Park
The boys asked if they could go to the spray park. So we made a trip over. It was a beautiful day and the boys had fun. Tommy for some reason kept fallowing around an older girl in a bikini. Oh boy.

Strawberry Festival
It was a great Strawberry Festival again this year. I ended up playing in the softball tournament because they wanted to do a team for Rochelle (who is really not doing well) and make up T-Shirts and everything. So the boys dropped me off at the ball field and they went up to the pancake breakfast. Tommy also got to bring his friend Dominique with him to the parade. I made it back from our game in time to see the parade with the boys. They had a fun time catching treats and watching all the fun stuff.
We walked around a little bit and then I needed to head back to the ball field. The boys stayed at the festival and did the bungee jump ride. They also did the ball toss and Tom won a gorilla.
My team finished up our third game which was our last because we lost them all really bad. Someone asked me if I had run a marathon after we were done. No, but it kind of felt like it after how many runs they scored. But we had a good time and we were so pumped when Rochelle commented that she saw our team picture on facebook. She is in the hospital and we were hoping she would see it.
While I was playing softball Tommy lost a second tooth. The boys spent the night at grandma and grandpa's while Eric and I went out to have some fun. So Daddy tooth fairy found another special coin to put under his pillow there. We picked the boys up in the morning, headed up to the festival and did another pancake breakfast. Then we went over to the fun zone at the Theater. The boys had a great time in the bouncy houses and slide. They both got to go on the swings. Jake wasn't tall enough to go on the bigger rides, but Tom had a great time. It was unlimited rides with just a bracelet to get in, so the boys got to do lots of rides.
We then took a break from the fun zone to go check out the car parade. The boys loved the car parade, especially Tom. He was jumping up and down and screaming. He had a hard time picking which one was his favorite. I think he liked the dirty truck the most. We then walked through the line of cars a few times and took pictures with them.
Then we grabbed some food and headed back to the fun zone. Jake also won a gorilla at ball toss. Then the boys did some more rides and then they got to go in and watch Incredibles with their ticket. It was so dark in there compared to outside that I nodded off using the gorilla as a pillow. The movie was great. The boys got to do one more ride before they closed down and then we called it a wrap. Lots of fun.

For Chelle
After tonight's game at women's league softball, Amanda from the other team made an announcement. Both teams were standing there. She was holding an Eagles jersey with Chelle's name and number on it. I already knew what was coming. Bad news. Chelle had surgery and they found the tumors to be inoperable. They didn't think she would have much time left. Everyone cried for about an hour. We all signed the t-shirt, hugged, cried some more, and said a prayer for her. Then we all went out to have a beer together at the Eagles. Only Chelle could bring together two teams who in the past have not gotten along super well. Let's hope that we can keep her spirit with us to make our league a better place. It was a night I won't forget.

Just Another Beach Day
I have been taking every Tuesday off for the summer so the boys can have some time going out and doing whatever they want. We call it our adventure day. A lot of them end of in a beach day. This is just another one of those beach days. Living on an island is not so bad.

Tommy Lost a Tooth
Tommy lost his first tooth yesterday! He has been waiting so long to loose a tooth. It has been wiggling for a really long time. We were at Tony & Susan's house and he was eating corn and out it popped. He left it under his pillow. Daddy tooth fairy found a special coin out of his coin collection to put under his pillow for him. He was super excited.
Team Croatia
Saw this video at the start of the world cup yesterday about the Croatian team and how it had many refugees on it. I almost broke out in tears thinking about how war torn my grandma's homeland has been for so long. My grandma fled just as World War I was starting in 1914. Members of the family were placed in refugee camps in Egypt during WWII until they could return home. Other parts of the family left to go to Australia and New Zealand. These young soccer players are refugees from wars that continued on over 80 years after my Grandma left her homeland. It is so sad to think that all the Croatian people have had to endure, and amazing to think of the how much these players were able to overcome.

Goeduck
We went goeducking at Tommy Breno's. There were lots of them. Not super easy to get. I spent a long time digging up a clam graveyard full of dozens of clam shells for what turned out being a horse clam. Then we dug a gigantic hole that I basically was sitting in and still couldn't get to the geoduck which was at least 5 feet deep. Then I found one and started digging as a last ditch effort to get one before leaving. Ended up find this beast that was almost 20 inches long. And an added bonus there was a little one basically in the same hole that I basically had to do no work for at all. We ate some up for dinner and froze the rest. What a treat.
World Cup - Team Croatia
Eric and I went up to Sporty's, Vashon's team Croatia Headquarters for the game. It was a good effort. We had lots of fun even though Croatia lost. Thanks for a great time Pete! Go Croatia!

Fox Seafood Fest
We went to the Fox Seafood Fest. May was there lots of good food there.
Low Tide Festival
We went to the low tide festival again this year. Tommy really loves the booths. He loved looking at all the animals and stuff, especially the birds. And he had a great time doing the activities. We went up the light house to look at the view. Unfortunately someone fell down the stairs. Not sure if she was OK or not. We didn't see a ton of sea life on the beach this year but we did some beach walking and had a great time.

Face Paint
We went over to Tony & Susan's for dinner. Lena had a face painting kit and painted Blake aka "Flake" & Tommy's faces. Tommy loved his tiger so much he didn't want me to wash it off. Thanks Lena.
Gus' Birthday
The boys got invited to go to Gus' Big 5th Birthday Bash at Ft. Bradley. It was a really great party. There was a huge slip n slide. Tommy didn't want to stop. He had so much fun. Jake didn't really feel like mingling. He hung out by the adults. But he was brave enough to do the pony ride and had lots of fun doing that. Then Aly took everyone out to one of the ponds to look for frogs. The boys had a great time. Thanks Gus and Aly for inviting us.

Boat Day
Thank you Kitt Selig for giving the boys their first ever boat ride. They also got to ride the tube and do the kid kayaks. Tom really didn't want to leave. He was having so much fun. He was super tired too so he went right home and took a nap.
