I'm Taller, No I'm Taller

These two boys are hilarious. They are so competitive. Even though they are in no way supposed to be the same height they still have to check to see who is taller.

Beach, Birds, Crabs & Kite Flying

It was a super low tide so we decided to spend an adventure at the beach. First we went to Raab's Lagoon. It was kind of cool place that I had never been to before. With the tide going out it had somewhat of a water fall of water going out of the lagoon. You could see starfish in the waterfall. There were also lots or crabs and birds. The nice part was that the distance from parking to the beach was very short so it is a place you could make a quick trip in to visit some beach.

We went home, got some lunch and then headed back out to KVI. It was not warm enough to play in the water really, but we took the kites and flew them out on the sand spit. We also checked out the birds crabs. The boys had a great day.

First T-Ball Game

The boys had a great time at their first T-Ball Game today. Jake is still working on his base running :)  And after he got a couple laughs from going the wrong way I think he is just doing it for attention now. Tommy was really into it and even slide into a couple bases just for fun.

Dockton Park

We went to Dockton Park today to do some bird watching, playing at the playground and some rock throwing. It is nice that the weather keeps cooperating while we spend time outside.

Fisher Pond

We have been continuing our nature adventure weekends. This time we went to Fisher Pond since we also heard there are lots of birds there this time of year. And there were. We were able to make it all the way around without too many issues. The boys have really enjoyed our adventure trips.

Mukai Pond

Today we went on another nature walk. This time we went back to Island Center Forest and took another path and went to Mukai Pond. We were able to get to Mukai Pond this time as the water level had gone down. There was a bench there we sat and had a snack next to the pond. We had a nice time. I am sure we will go back.

First T-Ball Practice

First T-ball practice today. Tom has been waiting for months for this day to start. He was so excited. And Jake was happy to not have to sit and watch this year. He cried a little at the beginning because he wasn't as fast as Tommy, but then he forgot about that and had fun.

Big Bubbles

We got a new bubble toy and it makes pretty big bubbles. They boys have had fun chasing down bubbles and popping them.

Crashing Towers

We have now progressed from playing the angry birds game to building huge Lego towers and using the angry birds to knock them down.

Emma's Birthday

Tommy and his entire Kindergarten class were invited to Emma's birthday at the theatre. The kids had a great time watching Paw Patrol. The boys then got a little crazy after the show ended. But it was nice to get to meet some of his class.

Throwing Rocks at KVI

Dad picked up Tommy at the bus stop after an eventful PJ stuffies and movie day at school. He took them down to KVI for a while and they threw rocks.

Egg Drop

Tommy got an assignment to do an egg drop for school. I explained to Tommy that you needed something spongy and springy to pad the egg from breaking. I opened the cupboard and asked him if he saw anything that would work. He picked out mini marshmallows. It turned out the egg drop was a little harder landing than we expected. The dropper kind of threw some and Tommy's plastic container and the egg broke. But he had fun learning about it.

Easter

We went to my parents house for Easter. We hid our hard boiled eggs, and some plastic eggs with stickers, toys, money and candy that was left over from every other holiday (shhhh....don't tell). Jake got his only little area to hunt in since he didn't get that many eggs at the other hunt. They all got a bunch of eggs and had lots of fun hunting for them. The kids especially liked how I made all of Grandma's chicken yard art look like they had laid eggs :)

Drawing Letters

Jake has been getting more interested in letters with Tommy working on his sight words. So Jake tried drawing a few letters on the chalk board. He was very proud of himself.
