The boys had a great time at school with Halloween fun today. Jake was in the Kindergarten parade, and they both had a class party. After school we headed up town and went trick or treating. We had a great time and saw tons of people out and about. Everyone was pretty exhausted by the end of the night.

2019 Soccer Season
Today was a wrap on the 2019 soccer season. The season was a little bit wet, a little bit silly and crazy, and a whole lot of fun. Jake loved the instructional league, but kept asking how come he didn't get to do soccer as many days as Tommy. Tommy absolutely loved soccer this year. He loved running and being a part of a team. He played great defense and even scored some goals. He felt pretty confident on the field this year. He was even out there singing his own theme songs while playing. My favorite was when he scored a goal while signing "It's the final countdown!"

Carving Pumpkins with Lena
We went over to Tony and Susan's for dinner. We brought our volunteer pumpkin that just showed up in our compost. It almost got all the way orange. Not bad for a volunteer. The kids had a fun time.

Lena's 2nd Soccer Game
We got to see a 2nd game of Lena's soccer. The boys were excited because they would get another chance to challenge Uncle Tony on the track. They happened to be in their costumes so it was pretty funny to see. Until they gave up and played on the tackling dummies. Lena's team had a great game and won!
Walking the Chautauqua Trails
While passing the time during soccer practices I have been walking the Chautauqua trails with one or the other boys. They have been telling me all about their forest walks so I thought it would be fun to explore. We visited the ponds and saw lots of little birds chasing bugs one week. And the next couple weeks after lots of rain we started to see mushrooms everywhere. The size of the ponds also exploded and ducks began to appear. It was fun to go see exactly what the boys have been talking about when the do their forest time at school.

Mushroom Hunting
The boys had way too much energy. So I took them on a trip to Fisher Pod for some mushroom hunting. A lot of the mushrooms were just starting to come out so they were either not very big or still hidden in the ground. But we did see a lot. And it get some energy out of the boys.
What to Do?
What to do when you are waiting around in the pharmacy to get your flu shot? Try on all the Halloween stuff of course. They boys managed to do their flu shots without screaming too much and no head butting me this time. It only took 5 minutes for them to do it this time instead of 20 minutes. So I let them pick out a Halloween hat.
Limping Duck Farm
Stopped in at the pumpkin patch. The boys could have stayed there all day shooting apples to the pigs. But we needed to share with the other kids :)
