The boys love that we live so close to great parks. Dockton park is just minutes from our house and it is so great just to zip down there when the boys are getting stir crazy.

Long Beach
The family made it out for another great trip to Long Beach this year. When we showed up on Friday it was 92 at Long Beach! How often does that happen. With the ocean breeze it feels glorious.
It then did cool off, but not too bad for the ocean. We played in the sand, water and had bonfires. Tommy spent a lot of time digging and lining up sticks like speed boats as he didn't really want to get close to the water. He did go a tiny bit into the tide pools when the tide was really far out, but he is still scared of the waves after last year. And Jake got a face full of sand again. I think that is 3 years in a row now.
Lena tried boogie boarding with me for the first time ever. It didn't last long because she said she was cold, but she did catch a little wave.
We buried Lena and her friend Suttan as a turtle and a cat. Keeping the 14 year tradition going.

Swim Lessons
Swim lessons have been gone good. Tommy is almost too big to be on the little table they stick in the pool so little kids can stand up. They shake that table pretty good. One kid did fall off but his mom was right there to grab him. And we discovered that Tommy was not ready for the water slide. He had a little floaty on but he got part way down the tube stopped himself and would not go down for a while. He ended up eventually scooting down the tube to the bottom and grabbing on to his teacher. Maybe he will try it again later. Other than that he has gotten pretty comfortable in the water which was the most important thing to learn this year. Can't wait to see him improve even more next year.

Adair's Wedding
My cousin Adair asked Tommy to be the ring bearer in her wedding. This is Adair's second wedding. Funny thing is my brother Wes was the ring bearer in her first wedding. We had a good laugh over that. I wasn't exactly sure how Tommy would do. There wasn't really a rehearsal. We showed up a little early to make sure the clothes fit him and to make sure we knew what we were doing. It was a couple hours of waiting for Tom. So he was already trying to get squirly. I did the best I could to reign him in so he wouldn't go crazy before the wedding even started. So I promised him a cupcake. That seemed to help. I also introduced him to Adair's dad, my Uncle Don. I let him know that he was a cop and if he was a bad boy he would give him a ticket. Then he pulled out his badge and everything. I think that must have done the trick because he did amazing. We practiced walking down the isle a couple times before everyone showed up and I let him know that the isle was his road and the he had a yellow light and had to go slow. They sent him down the isle first and I don't think he knew quite what to do. He kept turning around and looking at the people behind him. But I stood near the front on the side of the isle and started waving to him and he figured it out. I pointed to the stage and he walked up there and stood still. The ceremony wasn't very long. But he stayed still the entire time. I was amazed. Then they wanted to go out and take pictures. I reminded that if he gave me a big smile he was going to get a cupcake and wouldn't you know he gave us some great smiles. That was about the extent of his attention span. Then the kids began to go crazy. They danced and ran around the dance floor until they were all red in the face. I don't know how they were even still standing at the end of the wedding. They had so much fun.

I Did a Poo Poo
Still trying to get Tommy to consistently go potty in the toilet. Especially the poo poo. He just doesn't seem to be kind of kid who minds being poopy. Luck me. But today he did one in the potty and he was pretty proud of himself.
Good Morning Daddy
No matter how much or how little time they have with their dad it can never be enough for these boys. Today they wanted to send daddy a good morning message to him at work.

Griffey Weekend
I got Mariners tickets for all three games of Griffey weekend to celebrate him going into the hall of fame. On Friday my mom went with me. There was a huge amount of energy running through the place. We check out the plaque which was on display which was pretty cool that they brought it for us to see. Safeco was so packed that I made a trip out in the middle of the game and got stuck. I didn't end up getting any food because the lines were so long. It took my at least a half hour to walk back to the seats because I got in a traffic jam. And as I am standing there I see my mom on the big screen holding up my Griffey sign :)

On Saturday Wes went with me and saw the ceremony and everything. And it was another packed house. I screamed so much I to the point of loosing my voice.

And to top it all off Tom went with me on Sunday. We didn't see a whole lot of the game as Tom didn't want to sit down. But I took him up to the center field pick nick tables that look out over the rail road tracks and he got to watch the Blue Angels. He was super excited. Especially when they buzzed the stadium. And to top it off he got to run the bases after the game.
