I really wish that I wasn't writing to tell you this right now, but Blue was hit by car and died. I was throwing him his ball in our yard. I threw it a little too far and it rolled out into the street in front of our house. I tried calling him back, but it was too late. He ran out into the street to get his ball and a kid speeding down the street in his truck hit him. He died instantly so at least he was not in pain.
We will miss him very much. He was by far the best dog I have ever had. He was so laid back and such a nice dog. He did not have a mean bone in his body. All he cared about was food, his ball, and Eric and I. He never would have thought of leaving the yard if his ball was not in the street.
I have never felt so horrible about loosing a pet as I feel about loosing Blue. It is hard to think that he will not be there to greet us at our car door every time we come home, or poking his head in the sliding door every time I cook bacon. I can't even imagine going to our property without him. And it is impossible to think that we will ever find another dog that we will love as much as we loved Blue.
Here are a bunch of posts with Blue in them.
