Pop Pop Bottle Shop

All the boys have talked about this week is wanting to go to Pop Pop Bottle Shop. The teachers must have been sick of hearing about it at school. So we went to check out the new restaurant and attached ice creamery and arcade. I think they may have liked it. We had to drag them out of there when it closed.

Little Project

Baseball got rained out this morning so we had to find something else to do. 2 years ago when I got the boys their trampoline I asked Eric to build the boys some stairs with the extra wood lying around. He still hadn't done it. I started gathering materials. He said he wasn't going to help. So the boys and I came up with a plan. He wouldn't let me touch his saw. As if I am that helpless. So he cut the pieces once we marked them off. I figured out how to build it with the boys helping about half the time. I need to add a few more screws as I ran out. But now the boys can get in easily and not stand on lawn chairs they keep breaking.

Jake's First Baseball Game

Jake had his first game of the year and he hit great. And he almost made a play to first for an out but the 1st baseman was a little late getting there for the throw. His baserunning is still crazy town. Has been since the first day he started playing. Running jumps. And at times in ultra slow motion to be funny. He was very excited after his win. And it was so hot that we went to celebrate with ice cream at Island Queen.

Tommy's First Baseball Game

Tommy had his first baseball game today. They had been doing some hitting practice earlier this spring, but they have only had a couple practices so far. And it appears as though Tommy will be pitching this year. He pitched one inning last season and it did not go too well. He practiced a couple times in the last couple weeks but he doesn't have much experience at it so we were pretty nervous for him. We told him to just focus on getting it near the plate. And he did great. He ended up pitching 3 innings. He also made contact every in every at bat and got on base once. He is very excited for baseball season.

Jake's Native Plant Garden

At Tommy's baseball game today Jake showed me his garden they planted at school. In second grade they study native plants. So they planted a native plant garden just outside their classroom. Jake got a plant in a pot that sat on his desk for a week. And on earth day on Friday he got to put it in the ground. His plant was the Oregon Grape.

Easter

The boys had a lot of fun hunting for eggs. Although they are not very good at it. They didn't see the ones right in front of their faces because they were in such a hurry. They we had ribs and potato salad. It was a nice day.

Back out at the ballpark today with Jake for Griffey bobblehead night. He ordered the pizza and I ordered the chowder. What happened here.

Dyeing Eggs and Making Potato Salad

Between Mariners games and the egg hunt we found time to dye eggs. We also made some potato salad so that it was ready for Easter. The boys helped make it which they had fun doing. They also tortured their cat a little. But she put up with it like a champ.

Eagles Easter Egg Hunt

We took the boys up to the Eagles for the Easter egg hunt. These boys are getting old. They were sprinting around looking for eggs. One kid literally ran out of his shoes. In the old group they let Jake go out first so he cleaned up. He did share some eggs with some kids who did not get that many though.

Opening Day

Tommy and I did Opening Day at the Mariners. It was a packed house. What a great game. And Ichiro threw out the first pitch. Go Mariners! Looking forward to an exciting season.

Oh dear god, it is day 1 of spring break. The boys asked Alexa to play random weird stuff for an hour and a half. Here's hoping I survive the week.

The boys went over to the neighbors house to help them clean up some fallen branches. The boys stopped for a while to check out the view.

Monster Trucks

The boys got tickets to Monster Jam from Santa on Christmas day in 2019. Here we are over 2 years later and they finally get to go to the show. It was delayed a couple times due to COVID. Last time we went to Monster Jam several years ago it was at the Tacoma Dome. This time we decided to see it at Lumen Field. The cool part was that as we walked up the tunnel to get to our seats the trucks were right there. The section was blocked out for seating but you could still walk up there while the trucks were parked. They boys had never seen them up close like that. The trucks are huge. They had a great time cheering on Grave Digger, Max-D and all of their favorites.
