Tony let his ducks go today. He banded them. We'll see if they come back.

Love Notes For Jessi
The boys were bored and their Jessi cat was deciding to give them some attention. So they got into their art center and made her some love notes and laid them out for her to see.

Jake's Preschool Graduation Ceremony
Today was Ava's last day of preschool so they had their Preschool Graduation Ceremony today. Jake is still going for the month of August, but he was very excited to be doing his celebration like Tommy did.

Jerry's Beach House
Jerry and his family rented a beach house down at Sandy Shores for festival weekend. So we went down there to hang out at the beach for a while. I must say, it was pretty awesome sitting on the deck just staring out at the water. The kids played on the beach and had a great time.
Strawberry Festival Rides
The rides at festival where not as good as last year which is sad. I really miss the carnival from the old days. The boys did seem to be happy with what was available though. And they had the beer garden for parents right there so I could sit down in the shade and rest. We took them there Saturday and also on Sunday. So they had plenty of time to enjoy themselves. And on Sunday it started to get pretty hot, so there was no complaining when I told them we were going to leave and head to Uncle Jerry's Beach house.

Strawberry Festival at Sporty's
There wasn't much of a street dance this year. But that was fine. Captain Dick and the Portholes was playing at Sporty's. I didn't get to do any dancing or really much or much moving at all. Just sat on a bench and listened to the music. Oh well, I am not much of a dancer anyway.
Hjorten Family BBQ
After being up at festival and getting a bit tired, we met up with the Hjorten family at my parent's house. It was great that we were able to get so many family members there. Katie, Rebecca, Gavi and the girls just moved back to Washington after being in Cincinnati. So it was a special treat to see them. And the cousins had so much fun together. It reminds me so much of when I was a kid. Thank you to everyone who battled the ferries to make it there.
Strawberry Festival Parade
It wasn't easy making it to the Strawberry Festival this year since I am on crutches, but we made it. It felt like I ran the Burby, even though I didn't. The boys had a great time at the parade. They even went out to participate in a cross fit activity of lifting a huge tire. After the parade we attempted to walk the booths. But I didn't do too well, so we just went back to the Theater to the kids area. I swear it took me an hour to get from Ober Park to the Theater. Oh well. I am sure the booths are all the same as last year.

Rosemary Lowman Memorial
Today we said goodbye to my Aunt Rosemary. I am sad to say goodbye, but I am glad her body can now rest from what has been an exhausting battle after her stroke.

Swat Team on Vashon
There was a massive police response on Vashon today. One person claimed there was 30 emergency vehicles on one ferry. There were several ferries coming from both Tacoma and Seattle with emergency vehicles on it. So there must have been at least 50 or more emergency vehicles. Military vehicles, swat, a police chopper. This is a link to the reason for the response.
It was a pretty big zoo. The house of the guy was searched even though he was killed. Likely all just protocol. But people in houses nearby including Barrett who was at his dad's house could hear "Come out with your hands up." As far as we know they found no other people involved or any other incendiary devices in the house. But pretty scary. It is just down the street from my parent's house.
Puz Family Picnic
Despite being on crutches, we made it to the Puz Family Picnic. It was nice to get a chance to catch up with family.

Bum Knee
Well, I woke up this morning and couldn't lift my leg out of bed. I guess my softball game last night will be my last one. At least for a while. My knee has been hurting for quite a while. Probably about 10-12 years. I had it briefly checked out after I first hurt it but they said nothing. It never really got much better. It would come and go. The last couple years it has been pretty bad. And last night at the game it was horrible. I had to walk to first base on my last at bat. I didn't think it was that bad until I woke up this morning though. I guess I will head to the doctor.

Message for Dakota
The boys made a message for Dakota since they did not get to see him when Eric went to Alaska. They are pretty goofy.
