Tommy had his first baseball game today. He has been so excited for this. He keeps asking me every day. Is my game today? Is my game today? He has been loving practice. I asked him what his favorite part was. He said baserunning of course. He plays his own baseball games in his head in the back yard. Mariners vs Yankees or whoever he decides that day. He throws up the ball and hits it and then runs his bases. And he always loves to slide. So at practice during baserunning he lapped a runner because he really just wanted to run the them all. And then another time they had the ball in the infield, but rather than stopping at first he just kept running and got a home run. I told him before his game today that he can't just try to get a home run every time like he does in the backyard. If the coach tells you to stop you have to stop. But I was pretty sure he was going to try and make it a home run no matter what. Sure enough he got a pretty good hit. Got a double and tried to stretch it out. Well, he almost ran over the next runner and had to run back to two and did a total belly flop. And he loved every minute of it. He also did a little catching. He hasn't practiced it much so it was pretty hilarious to watch. He is super excited for more baseball.
