I thought it was a bit early to find a tree, but Eric wanted to go get one. This was our first time getting an actual Christmas tree in I think 9 years. We had been cutting down firs on our property that were way too close to our septic mound. But those have all been cleaned up now. We found a perfectly sized tree to fit into our nook area. I rearranged the furniture in that area and it worked out great.

Golfing with Dad
This time Eric took both Tommy and Jake golfing. Jake had never gone before but had heard about driving the golf cart. Jake mostly did putting. Tommy looked to have a rough day on his swing.

Thanksgiving
The family requested that we host Thanksgiving at our house. So we figured out all the set-up for the table and the leaves and such. We had never eaten a meal at it. We were short a few chairs so we had them bring folding chairs. I prepped most of the food the day before so things would be less stressful and also so there would be less to clean up while people were there. Jake helped me out a little while in the kitchen. It was a nice mellow Thanksgiving, watching the parade and dog show while prepping food. We were able to fit everyone in with the boys eating at the bar. We have much to be thankful for.

Turkey Trot
This is our families last Turkey Trot. Jake was excited about it. He wore his dad's track jersey just like Tommy did. I saw him coming around the bend and he looked like he was working really hard. And he put a big burst on at the finish. After the race he didn't look so great though. He pushed himself pretty hard. He recovered though.

Tommy's Last Soccer Game and Party
Tommy had his last soccer game today. He was pretty bummed. He played goalie second half. And he let in one tough goal that he probably had no chance of getting. And then about a minute before the end of the game he let in a second goal that just tipped of the top of his hands. He was pretty upset about it. He really thought he should have had it even though it was still a tough shot. Him and his team really wanted this game. The team they were playing was undefeated. But it did end up in a tie. So they can't be too upset. Their team ended up 3rd in the league. That were pretty happy with that. They also had a part afterwards at Round One. That place was huge and slightly overwhelming. But the had a good time.
I have been so busy running back and forth between games this fall I have had a hard time even keeping track of how the games are going. But Tommy had a great season. He scored some goals this season, which he was excited about. And the team did pretty good. Here are all the pictures from the season.

Jake's Last Soccer Game
Jake had his last soccer game today. It was super cold out. Even with a coat, blanket and hand warmers I was shivering on the sidelines. Jake's team played a good game but lost 1-0. He was not too upset though as they had a party at the arcade after the game. Time to head indoors for the next sports season.

It was such a crazy busy season. It seemed like Jake was improving through out the season. He played a lot of mid field, which is a lot of running. But he worked hard and had a lot of fun. Here are the pictures from the season.

Lena's Birthday
Lena texted me that she was having an impromptu birthday party at her house. It sounded low key. I showed up and she told me she wanted to have a party with her cousins there because she didn't know how many more years she would have to spend with family before left the state for college and would come back who knows when. Boy was that depressing. We had a good time though. We played a bunch of games and had lots of laughs.

VBA Fall Ball
While on Saturdays we were doing soccer this fall, on Sunday we were doing baseball. Both boys were playing VBA fall ball sometimes in opposite locations at the same time. Some of the highlights of the fall season were that Jake got to play at the Fishsticks stadium. He also got a really nice double. The rest of the time a lot of walks. Tommy played well and got some time at pitching. Keeping busy this fall.

Interesting Technique
The boys have some interesting technique. They are attempting to pull out an old tree stump using their dad's tow rope. Don't think that method is going to work. Think we are going to have to hook it up to the truck. Some days they are good helpers in the yard and then some days they just act goofy and come up with ideas like this. They did help me did some holes for planting some daffodils and also our native dogwood trees we rescued from forest before they excavated. Hopefully they transplant well and the deer leave them alone.

Haircut Day
Jake's hair is getting so long again that he can barely see. He says he doesn't want to brush it to the side. He says he doesn't want to pull it back. I let him know that having hair that covers his eyes is not going to happen. So today it is time for a hair cut.
