Day 80
A day of more homework. More homework. More homework. I can't take anymore. I am done.
More riots today. It doesn't seem to be ending in Seattle, Bellevue, and across the country. Much of it is peaceful protest. I wish it would stay that way. As angry and disgusted I am by the killing I don't thing burning, destroying and looting is the answer. March, scream, don't stop until there are answers from the government and police forces about the changes that need to be made. But not this. You are taking away from the voices of peaceful protest. Think of all the poor business owners who are struggling with the current pandemic. I understand people want others to understand how they are suffering. I am just not sure the most effective way to do that is by making other people suffer. But I get it, people have tried peacefully protesting and nothing has happened. Nothing changes. It just keeps happening.

Home School Day 79
Day 79
We spent most of the day doing homework we weren't able to do during the week. We did take a break to make some bread and package up some bags of party favors we never got to hand out from Tom's birthday. Then we drove around and tried to stealthy drop them off at people's houses. The boys were hilarious. They had no idea how to be stealth. Everyone who got a gift seemed pretty happy.
More riots and protests today. Also the Space X rocket launched today. The boys were pretty excited.

Home School Day 78
Day 78
Another rough day at the Bingham house. It should not take all afternoon the do one math sheet! I don't know how much more I can handle.
Massive riots began in Minneapolis, MN over the killing of George Floyd while in police custody. I watched the full video. It is totally horrible. The guy was obviously dead and the cop is still kneeling on his neck. He only stops when the EMT tells him to get up so he can get him on the stretcher. It is unbelievably disgusting. I can't believe this happened.

Home School Day 77
Day 77
If I thought today was tough. Ha! Tommy had five math work sheets to complete today. He fought with me, whined and did a half ass job to where we had to do it over. It took almost 5 hours to finish. I was not going to let him control this situation and break. But I can tell you, I am soooooo done for the day.
I did get a nice flower arrangement from a unknown ninja mom today though. It is a group I have joined to gifting group of moms. I don't know if I really have the energy right now to do a lot of gifting, but I am going to try.

Home School Day 76
Day 76
The boys really tried their hardest to push me to my limit today. Almost like it was z fun challenge for them. Ugggggggg!
Eric went to the dentist today. He also went last week. He was one of the first ones as he had been scheduled to fill cavities before all this started. He is happy they are be able to be open now that we are in phase 1. The US hit 100,000 deaths today.

Home School Day 75
Day 75
Lots of homework to do today as we have a 4 day school week this week. Little hectic. Tommy seems to be back to his normal self at least. I can hardly contain him he is so full of energy. His COVID-19 antibody test came back negative today. So that's good. Sounds like we will never know the mystery of what happened to him those 2 weeks. Maybe he did have flu b? We did get a flu shot in October, which maybe was for flu A? Or maybe he got some other kind of virus? Who knows. We do talk to the doctor on Friday but my guess is since the tests results showed no signs of anything wrong that he won't have much to say.
Tommy got a fun surprise today. His classmate and friend Emma brought him some cookies. Her mom let me know that she was bringing them so we had a little bag of toys for her as well that were supposed to be Tommy's party favors for his birthday party that never happened. He got to say hi to Emma in the driveway as she guided him on where to find the bag of cookies she hid. She is such a sweet girl. Her and Tommy have been texting each other. It is pretty entertaining. The boys have also been texting cousin Lena as well.

Home School Day 74
Day 74
We didn't do a whole lot today. It was raining at times and everyone was a little tired. We did go to the cemetery to lay some flowers for memorial day. And we did watch Star Wars episode 3. Jake cheered again when Yoda started fighting. I thought they may be a little scared by this one, but they were OK. I think they were a little mind blown at the end when the story line started the join up with episode 4.

Home School Day 73
Day 73
It was a fairly relaxed day. Only Tommy's reading test to do and then journal and reading time for the boys. So we got some cleaning done. I did some weeding in the garden. Then we spent the rest of the day sort of relaxing. And of course there are those crazy things these boys do while I am not looking.
And we watched Star Wars episode 2. It was hilarious, when Yoda started fighting Jake started screaming with cheers. It was so cute.

Home School Day 72
Day 72
Start of a three day weekend. We spent most of the day wrapping up all the homework for the week including all the specialist. We have it all completed now. We just have to do the reading and daily writing. Now we can relax over the next 2 days.
I did let Tommy play a little more lego star wars while Jake was in the bath. We got to the end of episode 1. We killed Darth Maul. But not before Darth Maul killed Qui-Gon Jinn. I figured that I should probably show them the Star Wars episodes 1-3 before the story line is destroyed for them. They are certainly not my favorite Star Wars movies but the boys should see them. So we watched episode 1. The boys seemed to like it OK. They kept saying, are we on level 3 now trying to match the game up to the movie.

Home School Day 71
Day 71
Today was another big homework day. It was a bit exhausting but we got most of it done. We have a little let to do tomorrow. Then hopefully we can rest for Memorial Day weekend. I think we could all use a bit of a break. Hoping Tommy doesn't develop any more symptoms this weekend. I think I see a rash developing on him. But it may be nothing. Let's hope so.
Meanwhile Trump ordered all churches open. Even though many churches said. No thanks. We'll wait.

Home School Day 70
Day 70
Today was a rainy spring day. That was fine though as we had a lot of school work to catch up on. We got a fair amount done. Still more to do.
Got a call from Tommy's doctor. Some of his blood test results came back. Everything looks normal so far. Still waiting on the COVID-19 antibody test. Scheduled a phone call with him for next week.
A report came out today that estimated 36,000 lives could have been saved if we had started stay at home one week earlier. If we had started 2 weeks earlier 83% of deaths would have been avoided. About 54,000 people. We are now over 90,000 deaths.

Home School Day 69
Day 69
Jake has really been on a roll this week. He was up very late on Monday night. He is really cranky when he doesn't get much sleep. Well it is showing. He has been doing a school countdown to the last day of school. It goes along with the alphabet. Tuesday was supposed to be dance day. Pretty simple right? So Tuesday I asked Jake to pick a song. Apparently this was too big a task. So i put on a song. Didn't like it. Tried a different one. Still didn't like it and threw a punching kicking and shoving fit. So he just went to bed. Tried again today. Finally on the third try today he would do the stupid dance part. Really kid?
The boys got new cat toys in the mail. I got them ones with a long stick because they have been playing with Jessie really close and she plays with her claws out. So there have been some scratches. Everyone seems to be happy with the new toys.
Today Tommy went to the doctor again. We ran through the long list of things he had going on with him. He has seemed to have less pain the last couple days. So he had no pain when we went in. But he did see that Tommy's lymph nodes where swollen. He ordered a blood test. He said they would do a COVID-19 antibody test as well. Tommy doesn't like needles, but we made it through it. Hopefully we will get some answers soon.
My aunt Jo Ann called today to check on Tommy today. She said that her daughters Karen and Sue both had COVID-19. I was not aware. It is also suspected that my aunt Madeline had it back in late January.

Home School Day 68
Day 68
Everyone was pretty tired today. Tommy seemed to feel a lot less pain today at least. It still hurt when he went to the bathroom a little. But no sharp pains. Just one headache. Jake was pretty cranky today and ended up just falling asleep in his bed at one point. We got some homework done and tried to keep it a quiet day.

Home School Day 67
Day 67
So here we are at day 67. It started out fairly normal. Work, school, play. I let Tommy on the trampoline a little bit, but watched him closely and made him take lots of breaks. We plated some vegetables that my mom dropped off for us. And then we went inside to get ready for dinner. Tommy doubled over in pain. He said his tummy hurt. I asked him how bad and he said out of 1-10 it was like a 20. I tried to make him comfortable but nothing was making him comfortable. At first he was saying it felt like his lower abdomen. And then he said it was his pee pee hurt. He has been having pain in his side for a week so I was concerned that he could be having intestinal issues. I kept trying to make him comfortable, but after about an hour of him saying that it hurt really bad we called 911. They said his vitals were fine. He was a little hot at 99.6 but that is not considered a fever. So they took us to Mary Bridge Children's ER. Of course half way there he started feeling better. By the time we got there he said he had no more pain. The tested his urine and said they could find nothing wrong with him. Uuuuuuggggg. They said to keep the appointment for Wednesday. His doctors office called back and said that him and Jake tested negative for COVID-19. But they also said that there is a 20% false negative rate. Eric and I are now coughing.
On another note, our company finally received our PPP loan. So that is good as far as my job goes. My parents finally got their stimulus check...for Grandpa Ted. Still waiting on theirs. And Trump announced today that he was taking hydroxyclorquine as a preventative measure. He said everyone else should too. Too bad his own FDA said it was unproven and unsafe.
