10 Month Old

Jake is 10 months old today!

This month Jake had his first Easter.

Jake is standing up a lot playing with toys all over the play room. He is falling down a lot so there are lots of tears. But he is very adventurous and wants to get back at it after a couple minutes of cuddles. He is walking while holding onto our hands now, but still a little unsteady. He has started to refuse naps a little nap because he has figured out how to stand up in his crib even with the brace on. So it has been taking a little more work to get him down to sleep. But we know Tom grew out of this phase so I am sure Jake will too.

We have also hit the begining of the battle of the diaper change. I get to work on all my wrestling moves. Fortunately I an still strong enough to take him on at this point. It is more challenging than with Tom because we get the fun on putting on his brace three times a day while he is trying to roll around.

Jake is babbling a lot lately. Not really getting any new words out of there yet but you can tell he wants to communicate. He gets really excited at bath time to the point were it is hard to even hold him. And he has started squealing when Dad walks by without saying hi to him just like Tom used to.

Tom and Jake are getting a little better with playing together at times. We keep trying to explain to Tom that he only knows what a couple words mean and he doesn't understand what we are talking about. And I think Tom is slowly understanding that. He has started offering toys to him more. There is still a lot of knocking Jake around, but most of it is just that Tom runs around like crazy and doesn't watch where he is going. There is less intentional pushing. Jake has started to throw toys now. I am sure he learned it from watching brother. But now we do have to watch out for toys coming from both directions. I don't think the rambunctious boy madhouse will end any time soon.

We have been trying out cut up foods but he has had a little trouble with choking on them still. The only things he seems to be really able to eat with no problem is his little cereals. He demands more of them all the time. And if you don't get more on his tray he gets very upset.

No teething this month, thank goodness. We did have to battle pink eye, but it wasn't too bad other thing him screaming about getting the drops in his eyes.
